Defend Troy: A Mythic Strategy Board Game

A Compoperative™  Gaming Experience

Competitive and cooperative, combined in one game.

A Mythic Strategy Board Game Set in the Trojan War

Command heroes, deploy tactics, and shape the outcome of a legendary conflict. Defend Troy brings the Trojan War to the table through card-driven play, where every decision carries weight and every turn reshapes the battle.

Designed for 1–5 players per side, the game supports cooperative, competitive, and solo play against The Fates, giving you multiple ways to experience the same core design.

Built at Our Table, Meant for Yours

Created by a father-and-son team, Defend Troy grew out of years around the table testing ideas, debating rules, and chasing a version of the game we couldn’t find anywhere else. This isn’t just something we designed. It’s something we’ve lived with, refined, and kept coming back to.

For Players Who Want More Than One Way to Play

Whether you prefer working together, going head-to-head, or facing an opponent that never bends, Defend Troy adapts to how you want to engage without changing its foundation.

How Compoperative™ Gameplay Works

Defend Troy allows the same game to shift between cooperative and competitive play, while introducing a third force: The Fates.

Cooperative Play

Defend Troy allows the same game to shift between cooperative and competitive play, while introducing a third force: The Fates.

Defend Troy:

Work together as the Trojans against the invading Greeks.

Conquer Troy:

Take the role of the Greeks and lay siege to the city.

Competitive Play

Siege of Troy:

Face off in full competitive play—Trojans vs Greeks.

Face The Fates

The Fates are a divine, rule-bound automation that acts as an unyielding opponent. They don’t adapt, but they don’t waver. Predictable, relentless, and grounded in myth, they challenge players to read patterns, anticipate outcomes, and endure.

About Tolarian Games Co.

We’re a father-and-son team—both named Eric—who’ve spent a lifetime around the gaming table, rolling dice, flipping cards, and debating rules late into the night. Defend Troy is the result of years of shared passion, too many mythological rabbit holes, and a lot of prototypes scattered across the kitchen.

By day, one Eric is a statistician and the game’s architect—meticulously designing systems, mechanics, and rules. The other is a lawyer, which makes him exceptionally good at challenging those rules (and occasionally trying to rewrite them mid-game). We founded Tolarian Games to create immersive, intelligent, and mythically grounded games that bring people together (and occasionally spark epic rivalries). Our goal is simple: build the games we’ve always wanted to play—and invite you to the table.
